Dr. Sheskier is an orthopedic surgeon and a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of problems of the foot, ankle and knee with offices in New York and New Jersey. He has been performing surgery on the lower extremities for over 20 years in the NYC Tri-state area (Manhattan, NY – NJ – Conn). He has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of complex foot, ankle and leg problems. This includes: tibia fractures, ankle fractures, foot fractures, achilles tendon injuries, torn ankle ligaments, arthroscopic surgery and revision surgery. He has been performing ankle replacements for over a decade. He is active in the developing field of the biological treatment of joint arthritis and tendon problems including PRP and stem cell therapy.
Dr Sheskier is a United Health care Premium Tier 1 provider. He is in network in the majority of United Health Care/Oxford plans.
He is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and an assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at NYU School of Medicine. He has helped train hundreds of residents in diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle problems. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. He has special interest in dance medicine and sports injuries of the knee, ankle and foot. Working with his partners (University Place Orthopedics), Dr. Sheskier also performs as a primary surgeon or assistant surgeon in complex surgeries of the shoulder, knee and hand. He has participated in many overseas medical missions/lectures including Thailand, Vietnam, Cuba. Most recently has returned from a mission in Haiti. He has been a consultant to the New York Rangers hockey team. He is a frequent guest on Sirius Doctor Radio

Some Background

He is the senior member of the Foot and Ankle service at the NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases where he was the co-director of the Foot service with Dr. Melvin Jahss (major pioneer in Foot/Ankle) before resuming private practice. He co-founded the Diabetic Foot and Ankle center at NYU-HJD and remains an active member of its staff. He has trained hundreds of doctors in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle conditions. He is involved in overseas outreach projects most recently in Haiti, Vietnam and Cuba.He has given educational course in Thailand about total ankle replacements and ankle fusions.
